| In Hokkaido, Japan, the number of Yezo deer (Cervus nippon yesoensis) has recently increased drastically, causing a large number of deer-vehicle traffic accidents. This paper examines conditions related to deer-vehicle traffic accidents by analysing the following relationships: time of accident and lunar phase; time of accidents and time of sunrise/sunset; likelihood of accidents and rainfall patterns, temperature and season (particularly snow and hunting seasons). The results suggest that the potential for deer-vehicle traffic accidents increases during hunting and non-snow seasons when there is little or no rainfall, just before sunrise or just after sunset, or during a full, first quarter, or third quarter moon. | Over the last several decades, in Japan, the young population (YP; less than 14 years old) has decreased whereas the number of registered dogs (RDs) has increased as a result of various socioeconomic factors. The total sum of YP and RD has remained virtually constant since the early 1990s. In this paper, we employ veterinary economics analyses to empirically examine the following hypothesis: the decrease in the number of children being reared has been compensated for by the increase in the number of pets. We find a statistically significant relationship between RD and the total fertility rate, which confirms that our hypothesis is valid in the case of Japan. |

| 先の東日本大震災とそれに続く原子力発電所の事故により、福島県とその近隣県では農産物の出荷制限および自主的な出荷規制が続いた。関係者による農産物の放射能検査が継続され、徐々に数値も下がりつつあるが、出荷再開後も市場では価格が低く抑えられるなど、福島県産農産物を回避する傾向がみられる。そこで、大学生を対象に福島県産ホウレンソウの購買行動を分析し、放射能検査の実施が購買意欲の回復にどの程度貢献するのかを明らかにした。結果は放射能検査 の有効性を示すものであった。さらに、被災県出身者は、他県出身者に比べて購入意思が高く、被災地支援の意向の強さを反映したものといえる。したがって、放射能検査により安全を確保するとともに、農産物の購入を通じた被災地支援や、復興状況に関する情報提供が福島県農業の復興につながる。 Great East Japan Earthquake and its nuclear disaster brought Fukushima farmers shipping restriction of agricultural products.
